I am one of those people who started in photography using 35mm film. Even though digital photography was propagating, when I started studying photography, 35 mm black and white was what every aspiring photographer would have to learn first. I miss those times being able to develop my own film and being able to print in the darkroom – the smell of developer, stop bath and fixer – , putting my negative on the enlarger, dropping that piece of paper and see the image come to life. Using film brings me back to those simpler times, when I was just learning to use my camera, composition and how use my creativity to create images. At times I cannot let go of my old Nikon FE and proclaim that Film is STILL not dead! Here are some misc images I took last year (a couple of images were shot by my daughter Naima and my friend Dominique Riofrio), some in Florida and some in Ecuador.
